For three decades, the National Cornbread Festival has been held in South Pittsburg, close to Chattanooga. At the home of Lodge cast iron, you can come and experience all varieties of cornbread and broader soul food in April. There is a carnival with some rides, a Miss National Cornbread Pageant, and lots of music, focusing on local acts with a bluegrass/country emphasis. It has grown in the 2020s into a bigger event, so plan lodging ahead of time.

• Middle Tennessee – The Middle Grand Division extends east from the Tennessee River including both the Central Basin and the Highland Rim. It is the state's most prosperous area, including cities such as Nashville.
• West Tennessee – The Western Grand Division extends west from the Tennessee River and is the northern boundary of the Mississippi Delta cultural region.
