Summary
| Description | English: Alexandra Palace The first Alexandra Palace was opened in 1873 as a 'peoples palace' but was destroyed by fire soon afterwards. The second palace opened in 1875 and in 1980 this, too, was largely destroyed by fire. I believe there was some discussion as to whether to demolish it completely but it was rebuilt and reopened in 1988. This shows it in 1982 with scaffolding supporting the walls. Keywords: people |
