El puerto de La Luz y Las Palmas ha recibido este miércoles la primera escala del 'Anthem of the Seas', considerado el segundo crucero turístico más grande del mundo y el más moderno y tecnológico de su clase, con más de 5.000 personas a bordo, entre pasajeros y tripulación.

Este barco, de la Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, tiene 347 metros de eslora, 16 cubiertas de pasajeros y ha realizado la primera de las cinco escalas que realizará en el puerto grancanario durante este año.

El 'Anthem of The Seas' regresará a Las Palmas de Gran Canaria los días 7 de junio, 21 de septiembre y 14 y 17 de octubre.

El crucero ha llegado procedente de Santa Cruz de Tenerife y su próxima escala en Canarias la realizará en el puerto de Arrecife (Lanzarote), donde continuará su travesía por diferentes ciudades atlánticas antes de que regrese a su base en Southampton (Gran Bretaña).

La visita del crucero causa una gran expectación en todos los puertos donde atraca después de que fuera bautizado el pasado mes de abril, ya que su impresionante silueta se levanta unos 90 metros sobre el nivel del mar y ofrece, además, a los pasajeros las más innovadoras atracciones tecnológicas.

Entre las mejoras sobresalen una grúa acristalada que eleva a los pasajeros a cien metros de altura sobre el océano, un simulador de paracaidismo de 30 metros de altura y zonas de ocio con complejos deportivos de vanguardias.
