Am 22.10.1940 wurden mehr als
450 jüdische Bürgerinnen und Bürger
aus Freiburg und Umgebung
auf Befehl der nationalsozialistischen
Gauleitung von der Güterhalle
des damaligen Bahnhofes aus in das
südfranzösiche Lager Gurs
deportiert. Viele von ihnen kamen
schon in Gurs durch Hunger
und Krankheiten um, die meisten wurden
im Vernichtungslager Auschwitz
ermordet.
