Huanggang (黄冈) is a city in eastern Hubei Province at the southern foot of Dabie Mountain.

As of 2022, Huanggang City has a permanent population of 5,790,200.

Huanggang City, formerly known as Huangzhou, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province, between 114°24'-116°07'E longitude, 29°45'-31°40'N latitude, located in eastern Hubei Province, the southern foot of Dabie Mountain, the north bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, the middle section of the Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Chutou and Wuwei and Hubei, Henan, Anhui and Jiangxi provinces, and Wuhan City; The terrain gradually slopes from north to south, and the northeast is bordered by the Dabie Mountains with Henan and Anhui; As of 2022, the city has 1 municipal district, 7 counties, and 2 county-level cities, with a total area of 17,400 square kilometers; As of 2022, Huanggang City has a permanent population of 5,790,200.

The nearest airport is Wuhan Tianhe International Airport in Wuhan. There are direct buses from the airport to some of Huanggang's outer areas, including Hong'an County. Luotian County, Macheng City, Qichuan County and Yingshan County. However, if you're going to Huanggang's main urban area, you will need to change buses or trains somewhere. One option would be to take a bus to Fujiapo Bus Station (傅家坡客运站) in Wuhan's Wuchang District and then catch a bus to Huanggang from there.
