Finnhamn is one of the Stockholm Archipelago’s most visited islands. Despite being located far out in the outer reaches of the archipelago, it is easy to reach by ferry and 1 Finnhamn ferry stop, making it a popular stop for travelers. Many also sail here in their own boats, taking advantage of the island’s popular natural harbors. If you walk the Stockholm Archipelago Trail you can also connect to section Ingmarsö by 1 taking the rowboat from Ingmarsö.
A scenic walking trail winds through the island, passing all major locations, making it easy to explore on foot. The path connects the 1 Finnhamn hostel, the 2 Finnhamn cabin village, and the local 1 Grocery store.
For those staying outdoors, the trail passes 3 one campsite, followed shortly by 4 another campsite, and the 5 Finnhamn guest harbor. You can find swimming areas at 2 Ragnas kiosk, 3 Idholmens bathing area, and 4 Finnhamn bathing area.
There are several wind shelters where you can stay overnight on a first-come, first-served basis, including the 6 Lammudden wind shelter, 7 Talludden wind shelter, and 8 Lilla jolpan wind shelter. Barbecue areas are located at some of the shelters and at 1 The boys' point grill area, 2 Idholmen bbq, 3 Ragnar's kiosk bbq, and 4 Sydfladen bbq.
Dining options include a 5 café and a restaurant with a rooftop bar offering spectacular views. Nearby, you can use the 5 Outdoor gym or visit 2 Idholmen Farm, where visitors can see cows, chickens, and other animals, and visit the farm shop for organic vegetables and locally produced goods.
Since Finnhamn is a popular destination for boaters, water is always readily available at the guest harbor. You can also find drinking water stations at the Finnhamn campsite, the grocery store, the cabin village, and the Finnhamn guest marina.
