The trail begins at 59.03553718.510511 Fjärdlång ferry stop, a side detour from the main SAT route that rewards those who make the trip. The recommended direction is anti-clockwise, heading south from the jetty along clifftop paths with outstanding coastal views. The route passes a farm and the historic 59.03647918.5173851 Thielska villa, before looping back north through forest along the eastern shore and into open central meadows. An optional extension leads to the island's highest point, offering panoramic views across the surrounding archipelago. The island is quietest in spring and after mid-August, when it largely belongs to hikers rather than the summer boating crowd.
