- Main article Stockholm Archipelago Trail
The trail begins along the shores of Furusund, offering a beautiful walk through a historic archipelago landscape with stunning views of the Baltic Sea. Due to shoreline protection, the walk often takes place between the houses and the shore, following a locally marked trail rather than SAT markings.
Hikers pass along Furusunds strandväg, a picturesque street, before encountering a wealth of cultural landmarks. Look out for 1 Isola Bella, the house where August Strindberg and Harriet Bosse once lived, and the nearby 2 Shoemaker's cottage, Strindberg's first residence in Furusund. Following 3 Strindbergs street leads to Astrid Lindgrens summer residence 4 Stenhällan, where the beloved children's author spent her summers. Strindberg set the action in several of his books in Furusund here, including "Fagervik och Skamsund" and "Taklagsöl".
The route also passes 5 Villa Romanov, the oldest building in Furusund (built 1726–1729), the 6 Furusund Museum Pavilion, and the remnants of 7 the Optical Telegraph, part of Sweden's early communication network. On the rocks, hikers can find the 8 Compass rose, the oldest known compass depiction in the Nordic countries, and the 9 Kings carving, a historic inscription on the northwestern slope of Ålandsberget. The 10 Windmill on Kvarnberget is another notable landmark along the way, as is 11 Hammerska ladan, a 19th-century theater.
Several spots invite a break: 12 Monte Bello and 13 Duvkällan were both historic destinations for bathers in the late 1800s. There are also several bathing spots along the trail, including 1 Furusund bathing water, 2 Föräng bathing water, and 3 Myrudden's bathing area. For those wanting to explore further by water, 4 Kajakomat Furusund offers kayaking arrangements in the area.
The stage ends back in the village, where hikers can refuel at 1 Hotell Furusunds, a historic inn dating back to the 18th century, or at 2 Furusund's harbour pub down by the water.
