[edit]Should this article be merged with Jiyugaoka? They sound very much like the same place. - (WT-en) Huttite 05:01, 24 November 2009 (EST)
- Also, they seem to be districts of Tokyo. --(WT-en) globe-trotter 18:31, 17 March 2010 (EDT)
Merge 'em. I'm living in Tokyo now and they're the same place. :) The double "u" in Jiyuugaoka is because it's pronounced longer, but there are different ways of writing Japanese words in roman characters. You could have "Jiyugaoka," "Jihuugaoka" or "Jiyūgaoka". - [no account. :)]
- They are one and the same, but definitely distinct from Meguro. I've worked up a pretty good draft of the two combined and cleaned up, but didn't do anything with it yet. The old Tokyo district problem. There is more than enough to keep you busy for a day or an afternoon in and around Jiyugaoka, but just need time to add more information. As-is, this is now about as complete as some long-time Tokyo districts. See User:(WT-en) Ted/Scratchpad#Drafts (WT-en) Ted 22:30, 27 August 2010 (EDT)
