Zona Cafetera, usually referred to as "Eje Cafetero", is a world heritage listed coffee-growing region in the Andino region of Colombia, which covers parts of four departments:

[edit | edit source]- To the north-west of Quindío's capital lies the spectacular Valle de Cocora where visitors can walk amongst forests of the world's tallest palm tree and the national tree of Colombia; the wax palm.
- For further natural excursions, the expansive Los Nevados National Park provides high mountain peaks, topped with snow; the perfect habitat for the elusive but majestic Andean Condor.
- The National Coffee Farm offers theme-park rides and tours

- The "Mariposario" or Butterfly Park
Golf
[edit | edit source]The Coffee Triangle hosts the Pete Dye-designed Club Campestre de Pereira, notable for the resident capybaras (the world's largest rodent species) that graze on the fairways. The course sits at approximately 1,400 m, with year-round temperatures of 20–22°C. Visitor access requires advance arrangement. The region's mid-altitude climate makes it the only Colombian golf area where year-round play combines with reliably mild weather and immediate access to coffee-farm visits, hot springs, and Los Nevados National Park.
