City article status

City, District, and Rural area articles status. See region status below (i.e. East Bali )

I'm working to upgrade this article to Guide status. I included a self assesment , and also I'm asking community for his opinion on this page. Self assesment based on:Wikivoyage:City article status

  • Stub
    • An article with little or no information, or not formatted even close to the manual of style. An otherwise-valid article without an article skeleton template may hold this status briefly; adding an appropriate skeleton promotes the article to "outline".
  • Outline☑️
    • Has at least the normal introductory paragraph (this can be as short as a single sentence describing where it is located)
    • and a template outline laid out for the article.
    • Some of the sections of the template may have content, but not all of them.
  • Usable
    • The lead paragraph should explain why the reader would want to visit. is not the understand section.
    • Has at least a Get in section describing all of the typical ways to get there
    • one Eat listing each with contact information.
    • one Sleep listing each with contact information
    • At least the most prominent attraction or activity is identified with directions.
    • If the destination lacks a hotel or restaurant, the article says so and proposes possible alternatives.
    • If possible, listings have geo-coordinates.
  • Guide
    • A brief general overview allows the voyager to understand why this destination is of historic, geographic or cultural interest.
    • The article describes different choices for accommodation and eating/drinking (if applicable)
    • information on multiple attractions
    • information onthings to do.
    • Listings and layout closely match the manual of style.
    • For huge city articles, all district articles are at least "usable" status.
    • There are clear explanations of multiple ways to get in,
    • clear information on getting around (preferably including a map with point-of-interest markers)
    • suggestions for where to go next, with one-liner descriptions.
    • Should have a custom page-banner.
  • Star 🔴
    • Has a tourist-style map with point-of-interest markers showing how to get around the destination, with major attractions, restaurants, etc. that match the listings in the guide. Wikivoyage:How_to_draw_static_maps
    • Layout and listing formats either match the manual of style exactly or are the exception that proves the rule.
    • Any district articles are at least "guide" status.
    • Prose is not only near-perfect grammatically but also tight, effective, and enjoyable.
    • At least one good-quality photo accompanies the article; preferably 2-3 showing famous or important attractions.

Region article status

    • Has at least the normal introductory paragraph (this can be as short as a single sentence describing where it is, in which country)
    • template outline laid out for the article.
    • Some of the sections of the template may have content, but not all of them.
  • Usable
    • Has links to the region's major cities and other destinations (the most important of which must be at usable status or better)
    • a Get in section describing all of the typical ways to get there.
    • The most prominent attractions are identified with directions.
  • Guide
    • Gives you different choices for which linked destinations (i.e., the 5 to 9 item cities, subregions, and other destinations lists) to visit (all usable status or better)
    • information on multiple attractions and things to do.
    • Listings and layout closely match the manual of style
    • all the standard sections have well-developed prose.
    • All important ways to get in are detailed
    • some suggestions for where to go next, with one-liner descriptions
    • thorough information on getting around
    • At least 2–3 good-quality photos accompany the article; preferably showing famous or important attractions.
    • Should have a custom page-banner.
  • Star
    • Has a tourist-style map showing all the listed linked cities, subregions, and other destinations (all guide status or better) and routes between them. Wikivoyage:How_to_draw_static_maps
    • The format either matches the manual of style exactly or is the exception that proves the rule.
    • Prose is not only near-perfect grammatically but also tight, effective, and enjoyable.
    • The article is well illustrated throughout with high quality photos.
