Welcome
[edit]Hello, 87.74.131.12! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.
By the way, have you considered creating an account here? While you can absolutely keep contributing as an anonymous user, it promises a bunch of benefits, and no obligations.
Thanks for your edits so far. Please read WV:Don't tout, which will explain why the message you left at User talk:HimalayanFrozen, while well-intentioned, is counterproductive. We don't want touts to post in the Pub, sure, but we also don't want to encourage them to post elsewhere on Wikivoyage or on other Wikimedia projects. We don't want them anywhere in the wiki family.
Obviously, accounts that have previously touted are welcome to contribute constructively to Wikivoyage, but in my experience most have no interest in doing so.
Hope this makes sense. All the best, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 12:40, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'm surprised you see the contribution of this new editor so negatively, when I read it as posted in the Pub I actually thought it could be rather useful: interesting facts on the trek, and relevant info around visas and altitude sickness which are in my opinion all in scope of WV. Of course it would need to be (partially) rewritten, but I thought it was well structured for a first contribution of a new editor.
- Dismissing someone's point of view as "evidently doesn't have a firm understanding of Wikivoyage's policies" is also not the most constructive perspective to engage in a discussion. — 87.74.131.12 15:39, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- Indeed, but opinions are like arseholes. Everyone has one, but they're not all worth something.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 15:46, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- No one is forcing you to engage in any discussion on a wiki. If such an immature response is the only contribution you can make, then for me, that's where the discussion stops. — 87.74.131.12 16:51, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
