Patroller rights for Faster than Thunder
[edit]Hi Meta community,
I would like to request patroller rights because although relatively rarely used, I can target drive-by vandals from one reverted edit, and when I patrol recent changes, I look for edits with tags that indicate likely vandalism. I have substantial experience using the same function on English Wikipedia as part of Twinkle.
Sincerely, Faster than Thunder (talk) 05:20, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Faster than Thunder Rollback right is included in patroller toolset, which include autopatrolled status and ability to patrol edits. Since you are not autopatrolled currently, I would leave this request for another admin to review. – Phương Linh (T · C · CA · L · B) 05:26, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
Not done. If you cannot be trusted for your own edits to be automatically marked as patrolled, much less is the case for having the ability to mark other people's edits as patrolled (which comes with patroller). I'd be a bit lenient if you have rb/patroller perms elsewhere, but you also don't have that either. //shb (t • c) 05:53, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- @SHB2000: How are my edits problematic? How can I not be trusted? I fight vandalism at substantial levels on Meta, and same on English Wikipedia. I haven't actively demonstrated any untrustworthiness, at least on Meta or Incubator. Faster than Thunder (talk) 14:21, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- You keep getting yourself involved in areas you clearly shouldn't. That's not a sign of untrustworthiness, but it's also not a sign that you can be trusted either. //shb (t • c) 02:28, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
- @SHB2000, the only evidence I can think of that seems to show this is my behavior on Wikivoyage, because I use the advice given to me on Wikipedia whenever I make a mistake. Also, I have evidently grown from my power-hungry beginning, such as my ill RfA on Meta. Requests for Meta permissions with global effects like administrator obviously recommend users to have those same rights on a content project, but is the same true for ones without global effects, like patroller? If so, why? Faster than Thunder (talk) 03:03, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
