Adams is a town in Ilocos Norte.

Understand
[edit | edit source]Adams is one of the smallest towns in Ilocos Norte, consisting of only one barangay and with a population of only 2,279 people. It sits at the triboundary with Apayao and Cagayan provinces and is located on a valley formed by the Bolo River and surrounded by the Cordillera Mountains.
Adams' name dates from the American era, and is derived from the anglicized version of the identity of the town's indigenous inhabitants, the Adang, who are closely related to the Igorot groups of the Luzon Cordilleras.
It is home to about 2,000 people (census, 1 July 2024)
Get in
[edit | edit source]Adams is bypassed by Route 2 (Manila North Road), the main thoroughfare in Ilocos Norte. Instead, travelers heading to town take a junction leading from Barangay Pancian in neighboring Pagudpud, 13.5 kilometres (8.4 mi) away. Apart from hiring a tricycle in the said junction, there is no public transportation serving Adams.
There is also a dirt road from Calanasan in Apayao.
The nearest airport is in Laoag.
Get around
[edit | edit source]Tricycles are the main form of transportation in town, but many inland locations are only accessible through hiking, motorbike or 4WD due to the rough terrain.
