Amadeo is a town of Cavite. Long dismissed as a suburb of Tagaytay, it is the province's coffee capital and has some natural attractions.
Understand
[edit | edit source]Amadeo was formerly a barrio of Silang named Masilaw. It became a separate municipality in 1872 and was named after the Spanish King at the time, Amadeo of Savoy.
Situated at the southern highlands of Cavite, along the slopes of the Tagaytay Ridge, Amadeo is Cavite's main coffee producer.
Get in
[edit | edit source]Amadeo is along Crisanto M. Delos Reyes Avenue (Route 401), a vertical highway that runs the length of Cavite from Tagaytay to the coastal town of Noveleta via General Trias. Secondary roads connect Amadeo with the neighboring towns of Indang, Mendez and Silang. The easternmost barangays of Amadeo are also served by Aguinaldo Highway, which misses the town by a few hundred meters to the east in Silang.
The town is served by buses from Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) and Lawton in Metro Manila.
