Bilibino (Russian: Били́бино) is a city in Chukotka, the extreme north-east of Russia.

[edit | edit source]Bilibino is a small city located on the edge of the tundra. It is home to the world's northernmost nuclear plant. The population is quickly decreasing, from 15,558 in 1989 to 5,277 in 2010. However, it is still the second largest city in Chukotka, after Anadyr.

The nearest airport is at Keperveyem 40 km south-west from the city. During the winter is also possible to travel north to Pevek or south-east to the port of Zelyony Mys by ice road.
