Bisceglie

Bisceglie is a south Italian town in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, in Apulia. Home to about 54,000 people today, it was established by the Normans in the 11th century, although historians believe there was an earlier Roman settlement at the same spot. The town has a pleasant old centre and a charming little port.

There are a number of historic sights, including several dolmens around the city. The Torre Normanna, a Norman tower and the 12th century Norman cathedral are worth a visit, as well as the 12th century church of Santa Margherita and the Abbey of St. Adoeno.
