• Explore local fortified town Minerve, about 30 min drive away.

Swim in the River Cess at the swimming hole. Part of the river has been dammed, and a lifeguard ensures a safe swim in summer months.

Take a boat trip on the canal in nearby Le Somail.

A local minimarket sells most things by the entrance to the town.

There is a market near the entrance to the town on Wednesday mornings.

The closest large supermarkets (Intermarche and Lidl) are on the main road towards Narbonne.

• Cafe du Midi. Lovely restaurant with great food in the centre of Bize. €13-16 for a main. 

One might consider moving on to explore Carcassonne next, or Narbonne.
