Brest (France)

Brest is a city on the west Atlantic coast of France. It has a long history of navigation. There are very large tides here.

The fare is the same as other trams and buses of the bibus network.). Regional airport used mainly by Air France for its domestic routes and by Volotea. The SNCF provides TGV route to Paris (8/day) and regional trains routes to Saint-Brieuc and Rennes or Quimper, Lorient, Vannes and Nantes.

The closest ferry port to Brest is Roscoff. Brittany Ferries has daily sailings from Plymouth (England) and two sailings a week from Cork (Ireland).

A bus service to Brest, run by BreizhGo, is available from Roscoff Port International, €2.50, taking 2h, using lines 924 and lines 921. The coach operating line 924 is usually the same operating line 921, but if not an included change at Lesneven is needed.

Access to various towns around the region, like Camaret-Sur-Mer, and Le Conquet (main ferry port for the Mer d'Iroise islands, Molène and Ouessant) is possible by public coaches, costing €2.50 per trip.

Brest is linked with Saint-Brieuc and Rennes (N12) and also Quimper, Lorient, Vannes and Nantes (N165) by toll-free divided highways.

BiBus operates two tram lines (designated as lines A & B), the Capucins cable car (line C) and a bus rapid transit route (line D). Lines A, B and D intersect at Place de la Liberté in the centre of Brest. Lines B and D serve the railway station (Gares). As of 2026, a day ticket costs 4,50 € and a ticket valid for 90min costs 1,70€. They can be bought from machines at the tram stops. These tickets include the use of the Capucins cable car. Along tram line A, there are shopping districts on Rue de Siam between tram stops Aiguillage and Château and on Rue Jean Jaures between tram stops Jean Jaurès and Saint-Martin.
