Central Bengal (মধ্যবঙ্গ Modhyobongo) covers the central part of West Bengal, between North Bengal and South Bengal.

Covers the former Nawab-era capital and two commercial centres along the Bhagirathi River.
  Nadia (Krishnanagar, Kalyani, Ranaghat, Tehatta)
Known for the pilgrimage sites Nabadwip and Mayapur, the royal heritage of Krishnanagar, and a major railway interchange at Ranaghat.
  • Birbhum is also geography at the central part of West Bengal. However, it is covered under Rarh due to its similar culture.
  • The eastern part of Purba Bardhaman shares culture with Central Bengal, like Ambika Kalna and Katwa.

Central Bengal (মধ্যবঙ্গ MOHDH-dhoh-BAWNG-goh) is a transition zone between North Bengal and South Bengal. Once known as the "Bagri" (বাগড়ী Bāgṛī) region, Central Bengal is largely at the east bank of the Hooghly River, which is known to locals as the Bhagirathi River.
