Chengjiang

Chengjiang (澄江, Chéngjiāng) is a county-level city in Southeastern Yunnan. It is administratively part of the prefecture-level city of Yuxi.

Chengjiang is best known for two things; Fuxian Lake and Maotianshan Shales (also known as the Chengjiang Fossil Site).

Chengjiang can only be reached by bus. The nearest railway station is the Kunming South Railway Station in Kunming. There is a bus station opposite Kunming South Railway Station, which has bus services to Chengjiang. Buses to Chengjiang also depart from Kunming's East Bus Station.

Taxis and public buses are available. A tourist bus runs between Luchong, Guanglong Town, Fuhai Bay, Moon Bay and the Chengjiang Fossil Site World Natural Heritage Museum. Buses leave Luchong at 08:30 and 13:00, and return from the museum at 11:30 and 16:30. The one-way fare is ¥8.

• Buses from Chengjiang Bus Terminal to Kunming run frequently from about 06:30 to 19:00 and cost ¥20. There are also 14 daily buses to Yuxi, with a fare of ¥24.
