Cleobury Mortimer is a small market town in Shropshire.

[edit | edit source]The town's name is usually shortened by locals to simply Cleobury, which is pronounced "Clib-bree" or "Clee-bree". It is located in the far southeast of the county, some 33 miles by road from Shrewsbury.
The town has a population of around 3,000 (2011), and has had a town charter since 1253.

- 1 Market Hall. Local tourist information displays in the foyer of the grade II listed building. The hall is also used for various local events.

[edit | edit source]Everywhere in this small town is accessible on foot. Unless you've been to too many of the pubs.

Do
[edit | edit source]- Simon Evans Way. A 17-mile (27-km) walking track runs in a loop from Cleobury Mortimer. Simon Evans (1895 - 1940) was an author who was a rural postman here, and the walking route is based on his daily postal round.

[edit | edit source]- Ludlow, a town to the west, where the 2L bus terminates. The journey to Ludlow via the A4117 road takes you right past Titterstone Clee Hill, offering fabulous views of Worcestershire and Herefordshire to the south.
