Curup is the capital city of Rejang Lebong regancy in Bengkulu.

[edit | edit source]Curup is a landlocked area, surrounded by Bukit Barisan on almost all sides. This vast expanse is known locally as luak. Musi River also flow through the luak.
People
[edit | edit source]The original inhabitants of this region are the Rejang (Tun Jang) tribe. As time goes by, people from other region came here. Immigrant races with significant populations are Javanese, Minangnese, Chinese, Serawainese, Lembaknese, Sundanese and various races from South Sumatra.
