Daisen (Akita)

Men on a boat in the river are carrying large, colorful, cylindrical staffs called Bonden.
Every year on February 17th, Bonden — traditional staffs made of colorful fabric — are carried across the river and to the temple, in a tradition unique to Akita Prefecture known as "Bonden Matsuri"
Not to be confused with Daisen (Tottori).

Daisen (大仙市 Daisen shi) is a city in Akita Prefecture with a population of about 75,000 (2023). It is known for hosting the National Fireworks Competition, held every August.
