Dos Pilas is a Mayan ruin in the Peten department of the Northern Lowlands of Guatemala.

The site was really just a flash in the pan of Mayan history having been in existence for little more than a century before being abandoned. The site was built around 629 AD and abandoned in 761 AD.

From Guatemala City take a bus to Coban then from Coban take a bus to Sayaxche.

If you're coming from Flores take a bus to Libertad and then another bus to Sayaxche.

Once your at Sayaxche head down to the river and ask the guys with the boats.

If you like you can take a boat from Sayaxche to Aguateca or Ceibal also.
