Füzesabony is a town of 7,200 people (2023) in Lake Tisza region on the northern edge of the Great Plain. It is transport hub for road and rail. Its railway station was designed by the renowned architect Ferenc Pfaff.

[edit | edit source]Direct trains from Budapest-Keleti pályaudvar via Gödöllő and Hatvan are available in 30–60 minutes. The whole journey from Budapest takes 1½ hours and costs 2520 Ft–2905 Ft. Other direct connections are:
- Toward north: Eger in every 30–60 minutes.
- Toward northeast: Nyíregyháza via Mezőkövesd, Miskolc, Szerencs and Tokaj in every 30–60 minutes.
- Toward southeast: Debrecen via Tiszafüred and Balmazújváros in every two hours.
