Geomundo (거문도) is a set of small islands off the coast of South Korea.

Understand

[edit | edit source]

These sleepy islands were briefly occupied by the British and named 'Port Hamilton' between 1885 and 1887 with the intention to contain Russian expansion. These islands are also unique in maintaining a number of Japanese colonial buildings.
