Gundlupet is a border town between Kerala and Karnataka states of India. This little town is popular for the cultivation of flowers. A large number of tourists come from Kerala to take selfies of themselves with the flower farms in the backgrounds. Farmers charge ₹50 for taking one selfie.

Gundlupet is en route to Ooty for travellers from Bangalore. Buses are available from Mysore in Karnataka and Calicut in Kerala.

  • 2 Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta. A hill in Bandipur National Park. There is a temple at the peak, and is well known for its wild life, including elephants. From Gundalpet, you have to reach Hangala village first, which is 8 km away. Then you have to travel another ten kilometres to reach the road to the temple. Vehicles are not allowed on the last 5-km stretch, and you have get into one of the forest department buses escorted by armed guards.   • Kodasoge shiva temple (14 km).
  • Manchalli cave temple (12 km).

  • Narasamangala shiva temple, Terkanambi. (12 km).
  • Padaguru Lingayath Math (11 km).
  • Parvathi Hills (10 km). Buses are available only in the morning. Autorikshaws charges Rs.300 on a wait-and-return contract.

The flower farms of Kerala Road are popular for taking selfies. You can get a better view of them when you travel up the Gopalaswamy Hills.
