Ido-Osun

Ido-Osun is in Osun State, Nigeria.

Ido-Osun is a town in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State, southwestern Nigeria. It is situated in the Osun West area of the state and is within easy reach of Osogbo. The town is surrounded by farmland, hills and valleys, with the Erinle River and its associated water resources in the wider area.

Ido-Osun is a Yoruba community. Yoruba is the main language used in everyday communication, while English is also used in schools, government offices and other formal settings. The town has its own traditional institution, headed by the Olojudo-Alayemore, alongside the local government administration.

Ido-Osun is accessible by road from Osogbo and Ede. The town is connected to the surrounding communities by the Ede–Ido-Osun–Osogbo road network.

From Osogbo, travel towards Ido-Osun using the road through the Ofatedo/Ido-Osun area. Local transport is available from Osogbo for travellers heading towards Ido-Osun,,, especially at Oke Fia bus stop.

From Ede, Ido-Osun can be reached by road via the Ede–Ido-Osun–Osogbo route.

There is no need to travel to Ido-Osun by a long-distance bus. Travellers coming from outside Osun State can first travel to Osogbo, if they are entering Osogbo from Ikire, Ilesa, Ikirun and continue to Ido-Osun by local transport.

Local buses, taxis and motorcycles operate around Osogbo and the surrounding communities. Travellers should confirm the destination with the driver before boarding, as some vehicles may terminate at nearby communities rather than in Ido-Osun itself.

A taxi or hired car from Osogbo is a convenient option for travellers who want to go directly to Ido-Osun. This can be particularly useful when travelling with luggage or when visiting places outside the town centre.
