Kassiopi is a lively coastal village on the northeast coast of Corfu, around 35 km from Corfu Town. Once a small fishing settlement, it has grown into one of the island’s most popular resort villages, while still retaining a distinct charm centred around its picturesque harbour. The village blends its layered past with a relaxed holiday atmosphere, offering a mix of traditional tavernas, scenic views across the channel toward Albania, and easy access to some of Corfu’s clearest waters. - By bus: Regular Green Bus services connect Corfu Town with Kassiopi, especially in summer.
- By boat: Small boats and excursions operate along the northeast coast, linking nearby bays and villages.

[edit | edit source]- 1 Kassiopi Castle. The Kassiopi Castle is a ruined Byzantine fortress overlooking the harbour of Kassiopi on Corfu’s northeast coast. Built probably in the 6th century, it formed part of a defensive triangle with Angelokastro and Gardiki, controlling the channel between Corfu and the mainland. Heavily damaged and deliberately dismantled by the Venetians after 1386, it now survives as atmospheric ruins with impressive walls and views.
- 2 Harbour. The heart of Kassiopi, lined with cafés and tavernas. Fishing boats and yachts create a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, especially in the evening.
- 3 Church of the Panagia Kassopitra. A significant religious site with origins in antiquity, later rebuilt in Byzantine and post-Byzantine periods. It remains an important pilgrimage destination.
