Lavasa

Lavasa (लवासा Lavāsā) is a privately-owned city along the Mutha River, in the Pune district of Maharashtra. Resembling the Italian city of Portofino, the city has been in headlines for wrong reasons, including bribery and environmental damage due to the city's construction. Despite this, Lavasa is sometimes considered a hidden gem of the Western Ghats, although environmentally conscious visitors may avoid it for ethical reasons.
