[edit | edit source]Joensuu airport is administratively in Liperi. There are flights from Helsinki. From the airport, city bus 6 goes towards Joensuu downtown. At the highway, at some point, you can change to bus 102 going in the other direction to get to Viinijärvi and Liperi town.
By car
[edit | edit source]Highway 9 connecting to Joensuu to the east and Kuopio and Varkaus to the west goes through the northern part of the municipality. From there, regional roads 482 and 476 connect to the main town. In the other direction 476 comes in from Heinävesi and 482 from Rääkkylä and Kitee.
By bus
[edit | edit source]Buses connect from Joensuu, Varkaus, Heinävesi and Rääkkylä. In addition to intercity buses, Joensuu city bus 102 goes to Liperi.
By train
[edit | edit source]The village of Viinijärvi has a train stop on the Joensuu-Kuopio line.
