Understand

[edit | edit source]

Lower Bavaria is often overshadowed by Upper Bavaria, but it offers a more authentic, less crowded experience. The region is defined by the Danube (Donau) river valley and the Bavarian Forest, Central Europe's largest contiguous forest area. It is a stronghold of Bavarian tradition, famous for its world-class breweries and ornate Baroque architecture.
