Lynnwood

Lynnwood is a suburban city of 39,000 people (2019) in the North Sound region of Washington State. As it as at the crossroads of I-5 and I-405, it is a bedroom community for Seattle, Everett and Bellevue, and has one of the largest concentrations of retailers in the region, anchored by the Alderwood Mall.

Paine Field, with commercial flights to select destinations in the western U.S., is a few miles northwest of the city.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the largest airport in the region, is about 1 hour south by car or light rail.

Interstate 5 (I-5) runs through the city, connecting to Seattle to the south and Everett to the north.

The I-5 interchange with Interstate 405 (I-405) and State Route 525 (WA-525) is just north of city limits.

Adult fares are a flat $3.00, regardless of distance; children 18 and under ride for free. A train runs every 8-15 minutes from 5:00 to midnight. All trains come from Shoreline, Northgate, University of Washington, Capitol Hill and Downtown to the south after splitting at International District/Chinatown:

• The 1 Line from Downtown Federal Way to the south, via Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Tukwila and South Seattle.
• The 2 Line from Downtown Redmond to the east, via Bellevue and Mercer Island.

• 47.81806-122.276481 Lynnwood Heritage Park, 19921 Poplar Way, ☏ +1 425-670-5732. Features an historical look at Lynnwood, back when the area was known as Alderwood Manor. Heritage Park allows guests to take a step back in time, and visit some of Alderwood Manor's original buildings.

• There are many small lakes in and around Lynnwood, for a relaxing paddle in the summer.

Lynnwood is more a giant mall than a city, and opportunities to shop are endless!

Lynnwood is home to one of the largest Korean communities in Washington. Lynnwood's stretch of WA 99 has some of the best Korean food in the region.
