By train[edit]

Trains on the line between Kouvola and Mikkeli, some coming in from as far as Helsinki or Kajaani, stop at Mäntyharju.

By bus[edit]

There are bus services from Mikkeli.

By car[edit]

Regional roads come in from five directions. Regional road 368 comes in from highway 5 in the north, providing access from Mikkeli, as well as from the south taking the scenic route from Kouvola, following waterways. Regional road 420 connects from Ristiina in the northeast (another way in from Mikkeli) and 421 from highways 13 and 15 and Suomenniemi in the southeast, providing access from Kouvola and Lappeenranta. Finally, regional road 419 comes in from highway 5 in the west, providing access from Southern Finland including Heinola, Lahti and Helsinki.
