Madaripur district

Madaripur is a district of 1.2 million people (2011) in Dhaka Division on the banks of Padma river.

Madaripur was named after the Sufi Saint Sayed Badiuddin Ahmed Zinda Shah Madar.

There are direct bus links with the capital city. There is inter-district bus service. The distance from Madaripur Zero Point to the capital Dhaka is 69 km.

There are some international standard residential hotels for overnight stay in Madaripur town. Of these, Hotel Overall International is of the highest quality. It is located in front of Madaripur Government College.
