Venice
The Metropolitan City of Venice (Città Metropolitana di Venezia) that includes the Venetian Lagoon, a bay of the Adriatic Sea with several islands. In addition to the city of Venice, the province offers several other attractions, including Caorle on the Adriatic Coast with its narrow streets, coloured houses, and cylindrical bell tower, and Jesolo, with its long sandy beach, tourist attractions, and nightlife. The second largest municipality in the province, Chioggia, on the southern side of the Venetian Lagoon, includes numerous canals, bridges and mansions as well as St. Felice Castle and the Piazza di Vigo.

[edit]In 2015, the Metropolitan City replaced the Province of Venice. It is an administrative entity in the Veneto region of Italy, with around 850,000 citizens.
Get in
[edit]1 Marco Polo Airport (VCE IATA) (on the mainland near Mestre (a more typical Italian city, without Venice's unique structure)). This is the closest commercial airport.
2 Treviso Airport (TSF IATA) (25 km (16 mi) from Venice near Treviso). Relatively smaller but becoming increasingly busy as the main destination for Ryanair and Wizzair budget flights.
