DeutschMettupalayam is a municipality of Coimbatore district. It is situated at the foothills of Nilgiris on the bank river Bhavani on Coimbatore-Guddalor State Highways. Mettupalayam Municipality was formed in the year 1948. Subsequently, Mettupalayam Municipality has been upgraded as Ist Grade Municipality from 1.4.1978.
