Mirepoix-sur-Tarn is in Haute-Garonne

Mirepoix/Tarn is a small village in Haute-Garonne, Occitanie. It is a part of the community of villages "Val'AÏgo". It is 27km away from Toulouse. Thanks to agriculture, it is a developing village. They build many habitations and try to be more attractive. On 18 November 2019, there was a dramatic event: a truck of 50 tons passed on the bridge and the bridge fell down. The maximum weight for the bridge was 19 tons. The man who drove the truck and a 15-year-old girl died in the accident.

You can take the busline Hop!304 from Balma-Gramont, where there is the subway station to Toulouse or the 355 bus line,from Toulouse station.

The village is really small so you only need your legs or a bike!

You can see the Ste Juliette and St Cyr Church. Next to the graveyard you have a very old wash house. You can see the place and the city hall or the memorial.

In Mirepoix/ Tarn, you can do many nature activities, like biking,walking,fishing. You can do petanque or tennis because there is a tennis court, and there is a motocross ground. In June, before the coronavirus, there was a festival of Comedia Dall'Arte, during three days, and at Christmas, there was a little spectacle and there was a celebration at the start of the year and a little funfair in summer. You can rent the function room for birthday or other celebration.

Before, there was a bakery (+ grocery and newsagent) but it caught fire so now you only have a bread deposit. But there are many pretty villages around with shops, like in Bessières: you have all sorts of shops and particularly the famous garden center Solignac. This is one of the biggest in Occitanie, it is open everyday. You can find plants, trees, animals, decoration, clothes, food and many other things. There is even a little farm! It is magnificent in Christmas. It is at around three minutes by car of Mirepoix, but now it is less convenient because of the fall of the bridge.

There is a traditional French restaurant named "La Grande Recrée". It is in an ancient school.
