Haute-Garonne is a department in Occitanie. The north of the department is densely urbanized, centred on Toulouse and its urban area, while the south is rural and sparsely populated as it stretches into the Pyrenees.

- 2 Boutx — its Le Mourtis ski resort is a family-friendly place as the majority are easy blue and red ski-runs

- 4 Roquesérière — there are plenty of hiking routes passing around the town
- 5 Mirepoix-sur-Tarn — a small village with a church, war memorial and
- 6 Pechbonnieu — it has the ruins of an 18th-century castle
