Okpuno

Okpuno is a vibrant town in Anambra State South East Nigeria. It is located in Awka-South Local Government Area. Okpuno share a common boundary with Awka and has grown from a primitive area into major residential area.

Understand

Okpuno was founded by a powerful spiritual figure from Akpoto (Igala) named Okoye Nwakpoto who came to manage the Imoka shrine. At first, Okpuno was known for its renowned farmers and strong native doctors. It has benefited in the new development because of its shared boundary with the capital city. Okpuno shares a boundary with Nodu, Mgbakwu and Awka.
