Just off the Bohuslän coast, Orust is Sweden's fourth largest island. Only Gotland and Öland are larger, as well as Södertörn, which appears as a peninsula more than an island. Orust Municipality, Orusts kommun, also contains some minor islands.

Get in
[edit | edit source]By car
[edit | edit source]The islands Orust and Tjörn are connected to the mainland by two bridges, one in the north and one in the south, and there is also a bridge between the islands. Road 160 uses these bridges. The bridge in south is particularly remarkable, and there are rest areas nearby that are all recommended to visit.
By bus
[edit | edit source]Västtrafik organises buses to Orust from Uddevalla and Stenungsund.
