Poompuhar (பூம்பூகார் Pūmbugār) or Kaveripoompattinam (காவிரிப்பூம்பட்டினம் Kāvirippūmpaṭṭinam) is a city in Tamil Nadu at the mouth of the Kaveri (Cauvery) River.
