
Roztocze is a range of hills in east-central Poland and western Ukraine. In Ukraine it is known as Roztochia (Розточчя) and reaches as far as Lviv. The range is approximately 180 km long and 14 km wide. In Poland Roztocze lies in the Lubelskie and Podkarpackie voivodships. The range is also the home of the Roztocze National Park.

The closest transport hubs to get into Roztocze are Zamość, Rzeszów and Lublin. From these cities you can catch either trains or minibuses to the towns and villages in the region.
Get around
[edit | edit source]There are several buses of many companies linking the villages and towns of the area. It is advisable to check connections before leaving, as some villages are connected better than others. If traveling during the summer months, an other option is to rent a bike and explore the area on two wheels. There are bike rental companies in for example Zwierzyniec and Józefów. It usually is possible to rent a bike for several days.
See
[edit | edit source]The area is known for its wooden churches, Jewish traces and beautiful landscapes. Besides this there are many pretty natural lakes and forests.
Do
[edit | edit source]In some of the lakes in the area it is possible to swim during the summer. The area is mostly known as a popular hiking and spa destination. During summer it is possible to kayak on some small rivers in the Roztocze region.
