Russas is the center of an agricultural region in the eastern parts of Ceará. Not much of a touristy spot, it is conveniently located on the main highway BR-116, some 170 km from Fortaleza, and could be a stopover for a taste of the real Brazil.
Get in
[edit | edit source]Buses by a handful of companies almost every hour to Fortaleza. Also good connections to neighbouring cities, including Aracati and onwards to Canoa Quebrada.

[edit | edit source]Everybody gets together at the main square in the early evenings. Occasional forró-parties on the weekends. Those youngsters who have a car mostly go to Canoa Quebrada for a night out.
