Understand
[edit | edit source]The South district of Pune is the gateway to the historic Western Ghats and the Sahyadri mountain range. Centred around the bustling Sinhagad Road and areas like Vadgaon Budruk and Ambegaon, this region offers a more relaxed, suburban atmosphere compared to the city centre. It is the primary base for travelers visiting the iconic Sinhagad Fort and the scenic Khadakwasla Dam. This area has recently transformed into a cultural hub with the opening of Shivsrushti, a world-class historical theme park. Its proximity to major educational institutes and the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway makes it a practical stay for both students and transit travelers.
South Pune is the southern part of the metropolis.
