Southeast Sulawesi is a province in Indonesia, covering the southeastern peninsula of the island of Sulawesi as well as many offshore islands.

Most of the province of Southeast Sulawesi is mountainous. The provincial capital Kendari is in the east on the coast of Kendari Bay (part of the Banda Sea), and is also the largest city of the province with a population of about 300,000. The only other independent city is Bau-Bau on the island of Buton.

Kendari's Haluoleo Airport (KDI ^IATA) has direct flights to and from Makassar, Jakarta, Surabaya, and nearby smaller airports. The smaller airports of Bau-Bau (BUW ^IATA) & Kolaka only have flights from Makassar. and Wakatobi (Matahora airport, WNI ^IATA) has flights to Denpasar.

Roads are generally good. To reach Wakatobi’s islands (Wangi-Wangi, Kaledupa, Tomia, Binongko) and remote spots like Labengki, you'll need to charter a speedboat.
