Tangub



Tangub is a city in of province of Misamis Occidental, in Northern Mindanao. It is best known for its month-long Christmas displays every December, and as such, it was nicknamed the "Christmas Symbol Capital of the Philippines".

Tangub was named after indigenous Subanen word for a type of rice container made from rattan strips. Originating as a small town near Panguil Bay, it became a city in 1967, but it retains a small-town charm. With the opening of the Panguil Bay Bridge, it became the new gateway to Misamis Occidental from Northern Mindanao.
