Taytay is a town in Rizal, Philippines. It is nicknamed the "Garment Capital of the Philippines" due to the thriving garments industry in the town and the presence of a tiangge within the town proper.
Understand
[edit | edit source]Taytay was founded by the Spanish in 1579. It is home to about 397,000 people (census, 1 July 2024) 
, and is part of the urban sprawl extending eastwards from Metro Manila.
Get in
[edit | edit source]Taytay is 20 kilometres (12 mi) away from Manila. It is accessible via Ortigas Extension. Manila East Road is one of the town's major roads, with Tikling as its northern terminus.
The terminal for buses to Quiapo are in Muzon.
The terminal for jeeps bound for Crossing in Mandaluyong and Santa Lucia at the edge of Cainta and Pasig are situated near the town's new market and tiangge.
Taxis (both car and motorcycle) and Grab can also be used to access areas of Taytay from Metro Manila.

Places along the main roads are accessible by jeepneys and buses, while places far from the town center are accessible by tricycles.

San Isidro (at the back of Rizal Provincial Hospital), stjohnthebaptist1579@gmail.com. A Spanish-era church that was built on a hilltop, it was significantly expanded in the 1970s and structurally resembles a carton box. The facade, belltower, altar and colored windows are the building's main attractions, while the well-manicured grounds contain a museum, chapels, the Spanish-era bells, and a driveway lined with statues of the Twelve Apostles.
