Topaga

Tópaga is a village in the Boyacá department of Colombia.

The economy of this small village revolves around coal mining. An important battle during Colombia's independence wars took place in 1819, when Spanish (Royalist) forces, temporarily headquartered in the Tópaga mills, battled against independentist forces led by Simon Bolivar arriving from the North.

Buses depart from the Sogamoso bus terminal every half an hour (17 km, 4000 COP)
